US wireless carriers are in the process of sunsetting their 3G cellular networks. Equipment using 3G modems will no longer be able to communicate after the sunset.
Regardless of the age or type of field telemetry unit(s) you are currently using, we have a special program to ensure a smooth and cost-effective transition to our latest 4G/LTE cellular technology.
Our first priority is to transition all customers with Jain field telemetry units operating AT&T 3G cellular modems as this sunset date is February 22, 2022. To find out if you have AT&T 3G cellular modems, please log in to your Jain Logic account. If you receive an alert upon log in, then you have AT&T modems and must take action now by contacting your account manager or our 4G upgrade specialist at (559) 459-5321 or email 4GUpgrade@jainsusa.com.
If you log in and DO NOT receive an alert, then you either have Verizon 3G cellular or already have our latest 4G cellular modem upgrade. The Verizon 3G cellular sunset is December 31, 2022. Customers with Verizon 3G cellular modems in their field telemetry units will be notified via the same log in alert once we have upgraded the customers with units sunsetting in February.
It is possible for customers with multiple field telemetry units to have both AT&T and Verizon 3G cellular modems. In this case, you will receive an alert and we will work to upgrade all your field units at one time whenever possible. Regardless of which cellular carrier your field units have we are committed to making your upgrade transition BEFORE the sunset dates.
The PS Connect v3.5 has been an incredibly robust device with units still operating in the field after more than 14 years. These devices are not compatible with a simple modem upgrade and must be upgraded to our state-of-the-art C3 Field Telemetry Unit. This is a great opportunity after many years of service to move up to the latest technology, including room to expand to more sensors and control if desired. Customers with Unified PS Connect models and 3G C3 Field Telemetry Units will only require a 4G modem upgrade.
