What is the difference between Vinyl tubing and Polyethylene tubing?

You are here:
< Back

Vinyl tubing is a cost-effective version of tubing used when a long installation life is not necessary or tight radius flexibility is needed. Vinyl tubing does not contain any protective additives to extend life under UV circumstances.

PE or Polyethylene does contain additives that help fight the deterioration of resin when exposed to ultraviolet light. For systems that are going to be under strain from prolonged light cycles indoors or environmental temperature fluctuations from freezing to hot, PE is the ideal tubing of choice.
