Why is Jain acquiring Observant?

Observant’s innovative technology has extraordinary value, and we are excited to couple it with Jain’s technological capabilities and global business platform. We have success in the Agricultural Technology space with Puresense and think Observant’s best in class, dealer channel ready telemetry for monitoring and control is a natural building block for our technology focused efforts.

 

What is Jain’s long term strategy for their business?

We seek to be leaders in whatever we do at home or abroad with our mission of leaving this world better than we found it. We are investing in Ag tech platforms. As a grower or dealer, have confidence your favorite Ag Irrigation monitoring and control equipment is supported by a larger well capitalized company with a vision towards the future. We realize there are risks associated with purchasing significant monitoring/control products and growers want to know there is someone supporting the product. Our company size, scale, and history provides confidence in your hardware purchasing decision.

 

I’m a farmer, how do I get service on my system?

We are acquiring Observant’s assets. We do not expect any data access issues. If you have a sensing or control product issue that is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, we will work with you to resolve it. We would like to hear any of your concerns and would ask that you provide them in an email. Observant@jainsusa.com

 

What is Jain going to do with the Observant products and people?

We have the highest regard for the Observant products and the people that delivered it. We have purchased Observant’s technology and retained the core team. We should be to normal business operations within one week.

 

I’m a farmer, who is going to be my representative? And How do I buy Observant products now, who do I contact? (All possible current Observant day-to-day transactional questions, including warranty, qualify for the following answer?

I’m a farmer, how committed is Jain to my relationship with Observant?

Farmers are central in the Jain business model, and we acquired Observant’s technology specifically with farmers in mind. We are determined to provide a long-term commitment to the Observant platform and further improvement so that you can maximize the benefit in your business. We will make every effort to make the transition as smooth as possible.

 

I’m a distributor, are you going to be selling Observant direct?

We consider our distribution partnerships central to our success, and we consider your ideas and opinions central to developing our path ahead.

 

I’m a farmer, are you going to sell Observant directly to me?

Our focus is to provide farmers better solutions that deliver a better bottom-line. We consider our distribution partnerships central to our irrigation business, yet any consideration of change must first show to provide you a better value.

 

After Jain completes the acquisition, how will warranty claims on products purchased from Observant be handled?

We are committed to securing a long and prosperous future for the Observant product line. If you have a sensing product issue that is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, we will work with you to resolve it. I have known my Observant representative for many years. Will he/she still be around after the acquisition?

We are purchasing Observant’s technology. We have the highest regard for the Observant product and the people that delivered it. The founder and co-founder will be involved in the business going forward. Matthew Pryor will be CEO/CTO.

 

I have heard that Jain has a great factory, when can I go visit the facility?

Transparency is a core value in the Jain culture, and hosting you at any of our facilities is always our honor.

 

Will Jain give me the same pricing that Observant was giving me?

When the asset acquisition is completed we will be working to staff and restart normal business operations. We will provide information as quickly as possible.

 

Are you looking for representatives? When can I apply for a job?

The Jain culture revolves around the value that our people provide to our success and we are always accepting applications.

 

How are you going to manage such a large and diverse product line?
