Very little is collected, and all of it is listed here.
In the browser
Root Zone pages are written out as ordinary HTML before publication and stored on one server, which delivers them along with a single stylesheet, the typefaces and the photographs. That is the whole of what arrives. There is no JavaScript to execute, no cookie to accept and no use of local storage. The typefaces and photographs come from that same server, and embedded video, maps and social buttons are left out entirely, so reading a page sends no signal to any other company. Nobody signs in, comments or subscribes here, so no consent pop-up is needed either.
In the server log
The pages go out through nginx. For every file it delivers, nginx appends an entry to an access log with seven details: the IP address that asked, a timestamp, which path was requested, the HTTP status, the response size in bytes, the referring address when the browser passes one along, and the browser’s description of itself, its user agent string. A request that fails may land in a separate error log, again with its IP address.
Every day the log files roll over, and each is erased after 14 days. They are looked at for two reasons only, to find what went wrong when a page fails and to stop a burst of junk requests. They are not sold or shared, and no attempt is made to link them to any other record.
Anyone who writes to editor@jainsusa.com shares an email address along with the message itself. Those go toward answering and, for a reported error, checking the claim. They join no mailing list, reach no third party, and are erased on request.

Requests
To find out what a visit left behind, or to have it wiped, send a message through the contact page. The reply will not take long: up to two weeks of log entries and whatever mail has come in.
